This is an HDR photography of the church in Apelern (Lower Saxony, Germany) which was built in 1162 a.D. and thus is among the oldest churches in the northern parts of Germany that are still in use today.

The picture was assembled from four individually exposed photographies taken with a Sony Alpha 700 on a tripod, combined and tonemapped in Photomatix Pro 2.5.4, denoised with NeatImage Pro+ and edited in PSE 5.

Use iso 100 next time if you have a tripod :) The difference in quality is tiny, but there's still a difference if you want the best of the best...

Are you happy with the alpha 700?

That is not entirely accurate. The CMOS sensor of the Alpha700 is optimized for ISO 200, not 100. While you may get the tiniest bit less color noise, you will lose contrast and dynamic range. The slight grainyness in the picture isn't result of the iso setting, but from the way I developed the images from RAW and combined them into a HDR. I was more focused on getting the stars and the darker parts into the picture than on worrying about a wee bit of noise. I can show you an ordinarily exposed and developed image of the series if you want, there is not much noise to be found in there, trust me. The stars can not be seen a lot in it though.

In my brochure it ain't very clear either what the best quality ISO is... ISO AUTO is 200-1600 while the ISO range is 100-3200 and can be expanded to 6400. At least, sony doesn't make it very clear... The Nikon D300's ore clear: 200-3200 and expandable to 100 and 6400... I'm doubting between these two camera's and prefered the Sony (on this point) because i thought the iso 100 was the best...

I didn't say there was noise, the picture is good :) And if there's a bit of noise it's because of the hdr editing, surely.

I also thought you used iso 200 for the stars, but on the other hand with a longer exposure at iso 100 you can have the same... But if iso 100 is calculated from the iso 200, it ain't good... Can you check it out for me, or are you absolutely sure of it?

ISO 100 isn't "calculated" from ISO 200, that much is clear. The camera's ISO 100 is "real" ISO 100, but still ISO 200 is the "reference" if you put it that way. There have been some discussions about this in a german Sony user forum and yes, I'm rather sure about this.
I'm actually very satisfied with the Alpha 700. While the 16-105mm kit lens that I got with it has a few issues (e.g. slightly darkened corners at wide angle and open aperture) but considering the price and the zoom range, it is still a quite good lens. I have not yet found any real weaknesses of the Alpha 700 body though, I'm thoroughly happy with it. The functionality is superb, the handling is easy and straightforward, the Super Steady Shot is outstanding and the LCD monitor is a real diamond.

As for getting the stars into the picture... longer exposure times with lower ISO would have put yet more motion blur into the stars, I didn't want the stars to turn from points into lines any more than necessary.

In the future i'd like to combine models in urban exploration locations...

So i'd go for the Nikon D300 with the 24-120mm VR lens or the Sony Alpha 700 with the Carl Zeiss 16-80... and if needed i'd buy some extra lighting to take with me...

As i've had two Sony's in the past i'd like to go back to the brand... But on the other hand i have 3 nikon lenses, the D300 is weather and dust sealed (the sony is just resistant), slightly better in image quality... But the Sony has the steady shot technology... And that's quite a positive point. Does the camera shoot 5 frames a second with the steadyshot on, and shooting in RAW + jpeg?

There have been some discussions about the CZ 16-80 lens. Apparently there are some QA issues with that one. I suggest you buy your camera/lens at a specialized dealer and not online, so you can test it. Apparently there have been issues with suboptimal sharpness in the corners and/or backfocus.
Other users who got a "good one" though are very happy with it.

I'm quite satisfied with my 16-105 (with the exceptions mentioned AND it was a lot cheaper).

Concerning the frame rate of the Alpha700...

The Alpha shoots 5 frames a second in all resolutions and all file formats independent of the Steadyshot. You only get an infinite series of shoots (until CF is full) with Jpeg fine or standard though. With Jpeg extra-fine, raw or RAW+Jpeg (which is Jpeg fine), you get 5 frames/sec until the internal buffer is full, after that, the frame rate drops down. How much it is slowed depends on the speed of the CF card. I'm using a 4 GB SanDisk Extreme III card.
The internal buffer of the camera holds...

18 images RAW
25 images cRAW (compressed raw)
12 images RAW+Jpeg or cRAW+Jpeg
16 images Jpeg extra fine

So, with RAW+Jpeg, you get bursts of at least 12 images in a row with 5 frames/sec. With a fast CF, you might perhaps get 1-2 extra. The longest series of images I've shot myself so far was 11 images at full 5 fps, so I can't tell you from experience beyond that.
