Ice crystals growing on the tips of some thorny shrubs.

As you can see, the crystals are thin like a sheet of glassine paper. The largest sheets of crystal were about two inches in diameter and very fragile.

Sometimes frost makes similar feathery patterns on windowpanes, but I've never seen anything like your photo. Most interesting.
