This very ornamental spiral staircase made from skillfully wrought iron can be found in the Victoria Building in Sydney/Australia. At the upper end of the staircase there is... nothing

There's just a small hatch that apparently leads to a service passage onto the domed ceiling of the building. Quite a waste of a really marvellous staircase but very beautiful to look at.

Wow, I actually think the architecture and colors around it are the best part, though the staircase makes a goof focus. But the framing cinches it. ^_^
